Last year, I took part in Project 365. The idea is to take at least 1 photo a day throughout the year. It’s a great way of ensuring you pick up your camera and take more photos, as well as having memories to look back on.

Moving to London – 10 years on
London. The city that stole my heart, burnt me out, and had an impact on me that will last forever. In August 2015, I packed my bags, waved goodbye to my hometown and left for the big smoke. I’d never lived anywhere other than Northamptonshire. I even went to university there.
Exploring Newhaven
One of the things I love most about moving to a new town is getting to explore new places. This time, I don’t just have a new town to explore, but a whole new county. After doing some research, I decided on the small port town of Newhaven on the East Sussex coast.
Achievements That Make Me Feel Proud Of Myself
A few years ago, my parents brought me a book that opened my eyes to the importance of self-care: ‘Self-Care for the Real World’ by Nadia Narain & Katia Narain Phillips. My biggest takeaway from the book, was to write down 5 achievements that make you feel proud of yourself.
My trip to Italy – Part 2
After a lovely long weekend in Ferrara with my friend Magdalena, it was time to head south. I was heading back to Bologna, where I would continue my trip. Magdalena accompanied me to Bologna as she didn’t have to work until that evening.
My Trip To Italy – Part 1
I’d been dreading June since the beginning of the year. The tenth anniversary of my best friend’s passing loomed like a big dark cloud on the horizon.
When my then boyfriend announced he would be away for the anniversary, I found myself in a quandary. I could stay in Kingston on my own burying my head in the sand or spending the day feeling sad.
The Sculpture Park, Surrey
My trip to the Sculpture Park coincided with something new I’m trialling this year with my working week. I’m attempting a four-day working week instead of the ‘normal’ five days. I have no idea how practical this will be. But one of the beauties of being a freelancer is having the flexibility to set my own hours.
The Law of Attraction
Have you ever felt an overwhelming desire to go somewhere or do something you’ve never done before? I’m not talking about a desire to go somewhere just because it looks nice. I’m talking about an overwhelming pull to go somewhere or do something.
Albufeira
Yesterday was my first full day in Portugal. I’m staying 4km outside of old town Albufeira, and with my solo trip being out of season, many of the shops and restaurants nearby were still closed. Having decided to head into central Albufeira, aiming for the old town, I could either take a taxi, a local bus or walk the 4km from my hotel into Albufeira.
Claremont Landscape Garden
During a week off work earlier this month, I paid a visit to Claremont Landscape Garden, a Grade 1, 18th century listed garden, close to the village of Esher, in Surrey. I’d never been before, but after a week of job hunting and sitting in front of my laptop, I decided it was time to get out and about for some fresh air and to have a little explore.
Ham House
As Autumn began to arrive in suburbia, I decided it was time to get my walking boots back on. I was looking forward to getting out and exploring my new surroundings. I started searching for walks online and came across a route starting at Kingston railway station. The route would take me along the Thames Path to Ham House & Gardens, heading back to Kingston via Richmond Park.
Virginia Water
What better way to start a week off in August than a day out in the rain! Not deterred by the weather, I loaded my rucksack and headed to Virginia Water. Virginia Water itself is a small town just outside London, nestled in the Surrey countryside. It’s one of the most expensive places to live in the UK.
Solo Adventures
The first time I announced I was heading off on a solo adventure, I received a mixed reaction from family and friends. Some said good on you. Others were concerned. Won’t you be lonely? They asked. Aren’t you scared going alone? Why don’t you find someone to go with?
Praia Santa Eulália and Praia da Oura
Thursday was my last full day in Portugal. I had intended to have a rest day. But I also wanted to see what else was around. This time, closer to where I was staying.I had been staying at the beautiful Alfagar II Aparthotel, which has private access to Praia Santa Eulália.
